Who didn’t collect writing stationery in the ’70s through the ’90s?
I know that all over the world, many children collected them, and in Brazil it was very common!

We had folders and folders of writing stationery, all sorted by theme, character, color… and I was very young, about 4 years old, when I started my collection, influenced by my older sister who had a flawless collection!
She and I would get together with other girls once a week to trade them – it was a big event for me!

I always counted on my sister’s help so I wouldn’t make any, let’s say, undesirable trades ahahahaha

And ever since then, I’ve had a real attachment for any stationery item – especially if it’s personalized with my favorite characters from when I was a little kid, like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Strawberry Shortcake, Little Twin Stars, Garfield, and many others….

And one of the perks of being a graphic designer is that there are SO MANY things I can customize and create using these same characters! My office is decorated with a total mess of kids’ characters that I love!🍓
So I thought, wow, how cool would it be to start collecting writing stationery again, to use some of it to write to friends and send some actual letters using the good old post service…so why not create some new designs that are similar to those from the ’80s?

Annnd yep, I started creating a few to kick off our collection together, and in my free time I’ll keep creating and sharing them with you on Freebie Friday! Do you like the idea?
This Freebie Friday features a set of 4 different writing stationery designs: 3 featuring Hello Kitty and 1 featuring My Melody.
Look how cute they turned out:

I used royalty-free character art from Sanrio’s official website and created a high-quality, print-ready PDF file in A4 format, containing two pages, each with two different designs and you can print them all together or separately.
That way, you don’t need to change any printer settings; you can just print the file and trim the white borders.
Look, I printed some on regular printer paper (75 g/m²):
sooooooo cute! 🩷💜

I’d love to start a pen pal group using these cute new items – anyone up for it?

I hope you like the freebie as much as I enjoyed making it for you! 🩷
XOXO
